Start German from zero and use it from the first week: at work, in shops and cafés, on the phone and with neighbours.
Learn Real German A1 is a complete A1 course for English-speaking adults. Every unit builds towards a few things you will be able to do in German, such as introducing yourself, ordering a coffee or asking for directions, and teaches the grammar you need for those tasks, no more. The explanations are in English and written for people who have never studied German.
Inside this book
- 26 units, four milestone reviews and a final review
- Clear explanations in English, with examples a German speaker would actually say, and notes where everyday speech differs from the textbook
- Practice that builds step by step: exercises with one right answer, sentence-building tasks, speaking tasks and a short writing task in every unit
- Real-Life German and Common Mistakes boxes, plus an “I can…” self-check at the end of each unit
- A reference section, a German–English A–Z word list and a complete answer key with model answers
No audio is included: the dialogues are printed as scripts to read aloud, record or practise with a partner, and nothing in the book depends on audio. When you finish, continue with Learn Real German A2.
Ideal for newcomers to Germany, international employees, partners and families, and self-study learners.
